Jury Report Painting of the Year.
Unfortunately, the photo does not show the gold very well. Gold in a painting often gives the whole work enormous power. Very nice is the blue at the bottom that flows smoothly into the dark colours above. Circles that seem to get bigger and bigger loom up out of the colours. The pasty paint application makes them look like objects. It is good that the entire upper right corner is kept quiet so attention is drawn to the movement of the circles. For good reason, this is an abstract work. Painted freely and lively.
Jury Report Painting of the Year.
The horizontal line of the river, immediately creates a landscape. Above the horizon, huge blue columns rise like skyscrapers. Those skyscrapers are enclosed by a beautiful luminous sky. That yellow gives the work so much power. What a fantastic choice by the artist. It is nice that the whole work is painted loosely and freely. No shape is sharply framed. It enhances the effect of a dreamlike painting. Also exciting are the dark shape and, in addition, the light shape supporting the skyscrapers at the bottom. The whole work breathes life through the free way of working. Hold that!
Jury -Painter of the year- 2020: "A swirl of woolly shapes with a strong upward movement. As if something explodes underneath. Beautiful colour. All this darkness connects the work to a whole. A daring format. Which the artist knows how to deal with. The whole is lively, and painted with thoughtfulness."

Jury Painting of the Year 2021: It is a pity that the photo does not show the effect of the metallic colours. It is a large work. Desolate and yet there seems to be something threatening coming at you from afar. This is a strong work because it is well worked through. Layer upon layer. Light and dark alternate and give the work an almost tangible feeling. Made with verve!
Jury -Painter of the Year- 2020: "This is one of those works where you irrevocably think: "Nice paint". Beautiful construction with paint. It has an almost three-dimensional character. The alternation between the flat wiped surfaces and the bubbled applied paint is magnificent. It is also nice to see that brown colour in the background, which gives it a lot more depth."
Jury -Painter of the Year- 2020: "This is a huge canvas. Enormously warm it radiates towards you. Precisely because of the dark colours where the light comes out. The bold brushstroke is reminiscent of a cut-out from Rembrandt's painting 'Jewish Bride' from the bride's dress. Because the bride's dress has the brightest colours on the right, the eye is drawn to it. A smoothly painted work."

Jury Painting of the Year 2021: Abstraction but with a hink to stone layers or perhaps earth layers. It is beautifully warm in colour. A round shape and the tip of straight shape touch left of centre which is an exciting piece in the work. Very skilfully painted.

Jury Painting of the Year 2021: A small drawing. And what a drawing! Very skilfully made. Just enough depth through the dark lines. That ties the eyes together. The mouth threatens to fall out a little. The eyes have a sucking effect. The rest of the paper is untreated, so the face seems to emerge from the background. This work shows great skill in drawing.
